Homeopaths English Language Testing System (HELTS).

 

 

 

 

Pioneer University also undertakes a special English language Examination (HELTS) on request, for the students whose mother tongue is not English.

Students who submit an English-language capability certificate at the administration office will be exempt from this exam.

The accepted certificates are IELTS>6 and TOEFL>550. Other certificates will be treated on a case-by-case basis.

Confirmation of English-language capability* is a requirement for undertaking Pioneer University programmes.

The exam fee is 25.00GBP (twenty-five pounds) and is payable before the exam date. The exam can either be taken online or at the exam center with pen and paper. The passing score is 6 or more overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each part.

Fees are excluding VAT

 

* A speaking exam has not been considered in HELTS because speaking skill is not a requirement for online studying.

 

Exam Outline

 

Writing:

Candidates can select one subject in the field of health and disease and need to write an essay on the subject between 150–250 words. The time given for this subject is half an hour (30 minutes).

Sample:

Medical insurance companies have a significant role to play in imparting quality medical services. What is your opinion about their role, and the advantages and disadvantages of health insurance?

 

Reading:

An article, which is previously published in medical journals, will be selected and candidates need to answer 10 questions about the content and concept of the article. Any format can be selected for the questions including Multiple-choice Questionnaire, True/False or descriptive. The time proposed for this part is 30 minutes.

 

Listening:

Ten questions will be given to the candidates and they have 5 minutes to study them. Then a real case taking or case presentation will be played once. The candidates are required to answer the questions when the case is played. The time proposed for this part is 15 minutes.
