Objectives by Head Master:

This module provides learning opportunities for qualified homoeopaths who have a desire to specialize or do work in a specialized field such as treating patients who present with Cardiovascular Disorders.Learners are provided with tools that would assist them in understanding their patients better in terms of evaluating,treating and referring to medical specialist.It is not intended to override the principle that homoeopaths treat the patient and not the disease.Instead it should be viewed as “treating the patient suffering from the disease,and understanding the concept of disease even further”This training module is also meant to ensure that student and practitioners alike, demonstrate basic competencies in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.

 

Bio-data of Headmaster:

Professor Motlhabane Robert Moiloa was trained and qualified as a homeopath from the South African Institute of Homoeopathy (1973), Homeopathic Foundation (UK) (1974) and the Homoeopathic Medical College of SA (1977). He worked in a full-time homeopathic practice from 1974-1996. He joined the former Technikon Witwatersrand as a lecturer in 1997, and became head of department in 2000. His PhD thesis was entitled 'The Toxic Effects of the African Pitocine in Relation to the Law of Similars'. He is the author of Manual of Clinical Homoeopathy. He is currently Associate Professor and Head of the School of Natural Medicine at the University of the Western Cape.

At the end of this module,the learner will be able to:

  • Take a case pertinent to the cardiovascular nature of the presenting complaint

  • Analyse the presenting symptoms in order to make a differential diagnosis, both in terms of the disease picture and the remedy that is indicated

  • Evaluate the prognosis so as to weigh the success of treatment of refer for further investigations and/or treatment.

Actea racemosa, Arnica, Arsenicum album, Cactus grandiflora, Digitalis, Crataegus, Lachesis, Laurocerasus, Lilium tigrinum, Naja,Phosphorus, Rhus tox, Spigelia, Spongia tosta, Glonoine, Latrodectus mactans, Aurum met., Kalmia latifolia, Tabacum, Adonis vernalis, Convallaria, Veratrum album, inflata, Apocyanum cannabinum, Gelsemium, Strophanthus, Iberis, Bryonia, Kali carbonicum and Phaseolus

 

Teaching Methods:

The course will be conducted on-line and project basis. It includes 12 on-line lessons. One lesson per week and a final project submitted after the final assessment. The subject of the project has to be decided between the student and the university

Assessment

 

At the end of this module, the learner shall fulfill all specific and critical crossfield outcomes.

Award:

On successful completion the student is awarded the certificate of online participation in Fellowship of "Homeopathic Cardiology" from Pioneer University signed by the head of programme. Duly registered practitioners by recognised registration bodies are entitled to use the letters FHom (Fellowship in Homeopathy) upon this certification.
