Title: HOMOEOPATHY IN THE TREATMENT OF VITILIGO Author: Arcangela D’Souza Guide: Dr. R. K. Manchanda MD (Hom.) Year: 2007 Abstract: 20 patients having Vitiligo lesions over various parts of the body were included in the study. A detailed case history of all patients was taken which included the duration, the number of lesions, size of the lesions, extent of spread, family history, personal history, along with all the necessary relevant data. Hence, based on the characteristic symptoms and the totality of the symptoms , the most similar homoeopathic drug was selected and given orally. No external applications were prescribed. The drugs which were prescribed in the study included Nat. mur, Sulph, Phos, Sil, Cal carb, Selenium, Nit Acid, Ars-sulph-flavum, Dros, Arg Nit, Ars-suph-rubrum. Each case was repertorised and the prescription was based on the characteristics and the totality of symptoms. Hence, each case was analysed in detail in order to get the homoeopathic similimum. Most of the cases were treated with a single drug. All the drugs were used in different potencies. Once improvement started, placebo was prescribed during follow –ups till improvement ceased. All cases were assessed depending on the size, number of lesions, extent of spread, duration of disease and treatment.
